Pros & Cons
Pros
These martin strings have a great individual note attack in the style of bluegrass, country etc. I wound up getting my kids these strings to put on their breedlove, seagull and yamaha acoustics, and they love them.
The sound of these strings ring out a tone that can't be beat. The sound is still surprisingly robust with a small guitar and these strings. I used to use dean markley blue steels but screw that noise, this is where its at.
Cons
Too metallic and harsh. I’m a fan of martin products but this was very disappointing.
Even if played live with mic and amp these would be awful. If you're strumming chords with a pick, they sound average at best. The strings sound good but they are not that durable.
Highlights
Quality
Btw, speaking on that point, the build quality is great.
Quality strings that last and sound good.
These guys cleary use high quality cores and even if you don't like the sound, them breaking over and over is absurd.
But while new, they do sound very good.
Packaging/appearance
Love martin strings but i don’t like the 3 pack packaging.
They sound dead out of the package.
Bright, killer tone out of the pack and they mellow but don’t deaden for weeks.
Once you open the pack there goes the reason for having an air tight pack.
Competitiveness
Got these for my fiancé to restring his martin.
Everyone told me to buy elixer, but i am so glad i bought martin.
And they've sounded like that for 6 months now.

I was initially concerned that a coated string would have a duller sound but there was no noticeable difference maybe a tiny difference too small for concern without a sidebyside comparison or recording
