Very accurate and a wider range than others.
However while i was deep frying some chicken, i trusted my masterbuilt butterball thermometer to do the job it had done.
Much higher than 375 and you are asking for trouble.

The one that came with our fryer was thin and broke after using once

I bought 2 thermometers one for a friend who also has a deep fryer but hers came with one that did not have a red arrow that you can move and set at the temp you need very useful when looking quickly to see how close it is to being done

Given the 12 long stem it was not practical to attach the thermometer to the pan via the clip

I am giving it four stars because it is so tall that a shallow pan say even 4 to 6 inches deep will not support it

The thermometer probe reaches down into these deeper pots

Heads up the adhesive for the bubble plastic that enclosed the thermometer against the cardboard is pretty lame so the distributor may have to add some tape to hold it in
