Pros
The temperature control is a god-send for touchy, long cooks/smokes like brisket. It's super cool that it works well as both a * and a grill. Unlike traditional stick smokers, you don't need to babysit this.
Cons
This isn’t exactly the kind of service that instills confidence in someone that they’ve made a good purchase. The shipping weight is just over 230 pounds. Very frustrating to pay $800.
Wi-fi and app works very intermittently. My router is no more than 15 feet from the grill. Poor design placement of the wifi antenna and likely poor gain on the antenna.
Fan and thermometer don't work properly. No built-in thermometer or sensor works properly.
Here is the kicker, opened support tickets - first time it failed creating a ticket indicating “oracle error”. It’s so bad that.

Talk about set it and forget it, the only times i needed to check on this thing was when i mopped the brisket throughout the cook process.

Even tho amazon took off so much on my total price,i don't like false advertising.
I was worried about the price but after using it well worth it.

Bigger than i thought and extremely well packed.
Competitiveness
The 850 and 1050 have addressed the design flaw of the 800 which was the giant vent slit in the back.
) honorable mention: the oklahoma joe tahoma was so terribly bad that i took it back to lowe's after just one grill.
I've never had a better grilling experience than these masterbuilts.

As i learned with my first one the 800 it is almost always those clamps not being tight enough to get the sensor buttons to fully press down in order for the fan to run

There are 3 hopper coal door and grill door

When you get all 3 to positively press down on the safety switches almost all your problems go away
