Pros & Cons
Pros
First and foremost this is the second one i've owned. Couldn't be easier. This gadget takes all the guesswork out.
The included spout nozzle for draining fits snug and is easy to pour out when finished. Comes with a drip line to drain the oil and tub comes out. Easy to clean and replace oil with the drain valve.
Use a 5 gal bucket with a brine (load it up with herbs) keep in a fridge or very cold garage. The heating coil and probe are your standard american made parts. Bought this after frying turkey the conventional way outdoors in a pot on a burner.
Cons
Masterbuilt rep says until i perform a reset with the hot oil, turkey, controller, etc real time they can't honor my warranty. I'm not sure how they can warranty the product if this is truly the case. Obviously a faulty valve.
This fryer looses 125 to 150 degrees while frying. I've tried with the lid closed to reserve heat with the heating element turn to max, still it looses to much of its temperature.
