Pros

The temperature control seems to work very well and the grill holds temp very well with only a 5 - 10 degree fluctuation. Unlike traditional stick smokers, you don't need to babysit this. It's super cool that it works well as both a * and a grill.

The gravity feed charcoal is a game changing design for me. The ash bucket is at the bottom and makes clean-up a snap. Removing the ash is a breeze as it has a pan that simply slides out.

Cons

Assembling the product was a nightmare. Actually doing the work was really frustrating. Very frustrating experience. Did not buy it on amazon.

Wi-fi and app works very intermittently. My router is no more than 15 feet from the grill. The wifi router ssid and pw needed to be less than 15 characters.

Talk about set it and forget it, the only times i needed to check on this thing was when i mopped the brisket throughout the cook process.

This was way too pricey for these problems that render it useless.

Even tho amazon took off so much on my total price,i don't like false advertising.

I was worried about the price but after using it well worth it.

It gets to temps very quickly and maintains the temp better than anything i’ve owned.

Packaging/appearance

Bigger than i thought and extremely well packed.

Competitiveness

The 850 and 1050 have addressed the design flaw of the 800 which was the giant vent slit in the back.

I've never had a better grilling experience than these masterbuilts.

I am using kingsford brand charcoal as i found other brands to not properly drop down in the gravity fed hopper.
