Pros

Holes made with the drill are clean with a small burr on the backside. This cobalt step bit makes drilling much easier and faster. I always start my holes with a single sized drill bit, but this one looks like the tip may work for some materials to st...  Read More

I wish i had this step drill bit back then since it was incredibly challenging to use just a reamer to accomplish my task. Cobalt bits are much better than regular drill bits.

Cutting oil has greater viscosity than water so it clings to the bit better. A cutting oil also has cooling properties and will not oxidize. The quad flutes lets them cut very fast.

The case is a nice addition to cleanly store these in a drawer, or haul in a toolbox. The storage sleeve is very useable. In a crowded toolbox, it is easy to find.

Step drill bit is well crafted and performs a smooth cut. Great buy for any kind of diy'er. Can be thrown in the tool box and not have to worry about it getting chipped up.

I saw no visible degradation on the cutting surfaces after making a few holes in 16ga sheet metal.

I compared this directly to a no-name generic step bit ordered from some random importer site.
