Pros & Cons
Pros
Don't blame the baking mat. This product is half the price and performs as well. Easily on par with demarle brand. There are pricier mats out there, but i can't imagine they would be any better than the matfer.
Great for cookies, pizza, homemade cinnamon rolls, turnovers and salmon. I buy them for wedding presents because all every kitchen needs one. I usually purchase my cooking equipment at chef central because i can rely on their inventory being up to dat... Read More
You can lift up a cookie without a spatula. Cookies bake very evenly. Although it feels slightly tacky to the touch, those cookies really do slide right off when you take them out of the oven.
The exopat saves time and money over sprays and parchment paper and is far more effective than both. Plus, noo buildup on your pans and it is super easily cleaned. I especially love using it for items that i know will be sticky, like homemade candy.
Heavy enough to stand on its edge with just a casual cee-shaped curve for balance. Thick enough that when you roll it to store in a drawer, its own weight keeps it loosely rolled.
Cons
It also discolors and is hard to clean. It picks up the scent of the food (gingerbread, french fries, chocolate) maybe i have a faulty one.
Highlights
Quality
I have been very pleased with the performance.
9-2015-- just thought i'd update my review with the information that these are still preforming like new!
Cleaning this mat is nothing at all, and i love that i've found another way to reduce my use of a disposable product (aluminum foil).
It's possible that product quality has changed in the last two years, but i haven't experienced any of the problems others have... Read More
Shipping
Have yet to try product but major fail on shipping.
Packaging/appearance
Makes baking cookies and biscuits much easier - they slide right off, no need to wash the tray, just wipe off the mat.
All the sugar and grease that would ordinarily have been cooked to the bottom of my baking sheet literally rolled off into the sink.
Perhaps if i had used the exopat for that particular batch, it would have the stains.
Competitiveness
The mat keeps going strong and i give it a 5-star review because:1.
Both are amazing and exellent products imho.
Don’t waste your time and $$ to buy off brands!
French-made, comparable to silpat, and usually a better deal, price-wise.
