Pros

Heavy copper minimizes this problem. The bottom is about 1/8th inch thick, the sides a bit thinner but still very substantial. If it's super important to you that outside be shiny, mauviel makes a copper cleaner for around $20.

Love it among all the other french cookware and earthenware in our kitchen. The handle is a cone of copper formed around a mandrel and soldered on the undersurface and to the mounting plate, which is then riveted to the pot.

Cons

Mauviel is sending amazon their defects and amazon is selling them for full price. I own 2 other pans, same brand, and this is not normal. If you want a copper pot this isn't it.
