The maverick is by my standards the only true rapid read. I clean the sharp end regularly, even letting the plastic casing at the other end run under the faucet, and that hasn't affected it one bit. Also, the battery last a long time.

The unit is very sensitive to water. The temperature reading is slow and totally inaccurate! Died on the second use - repeated beeping and over temp. Lcd display just keeps flashing.

You have to be a contortionist to read it. Holding this thermometer sideways or at a low angle makes the readout upside down. I believe the electronics are too delicate to withstand ordinary use of grill cooking.

This is very uncomfortable and dangerous. Quite a hassle for a $20 product. It appears to be the same brand and model, but doesn't work as well as his.

This fork is so poor, i felt compelled to let everyone know it. Net net, it's way more delicate than it should be.
