Pros

Followed the excellent installation instructions found online. Then watched a video on youtube on how to install. Used youtube for mazda update no problem.

Everything you'll need is in the kit. Comes with everything you need for the upgrade except the 10mm socket and a butterknife and it works amazingly. Cheaper here than what my local mazda dealership quoted. Com/carplay/android auto oem kit.

Turned it on and works like a champ. Apple carplay now works flawlessly in the car. Now the car is completely updated and works with carplay seamlessly.

Carplay is such a nice leveling up. It's not as hard as it looks. It’s pretty awesome though. It is very easy. And it's just nice to have both options now.

Waze is a bit better than google's normal map app. The only goofy thing is the touch screen doesn't work sometimes. I love that google maps will be on the infotainment screen.

Cons

Mazda's infotainment system is janky and useless. Wireless android auto/carplay are a thing but mazda does not support them at this time.

For such a low cost, it was a great add-on love it.

Couldn't be happier and saved a lot of money since the dealer wanted $500 to install.

It definitely pays for itself several times over in terms of car value, not to mention the cost savings from skipping the dealer

An original apple usb cable is pricey but the unit will not work without it.

I received it a few days later and was able to install everything today.

I ordered this about a week or so ago and was only sent cables.

I contacted the seller and they immediately responded saying they would send me the hub.

Competitiveness

It runs faster and does not stutter compared to the android auto tweak that was released years ago.

If you’re both handy and technically savvy this is def a much better deal than the $500 the dealer charges.

Waze is a bit better than google's normal map app.
