Pros & Cons

Pros

Both lubes dry out quick so add more lube and rejuvenate with sterile water. When using stainless steel sounders and plugs, i think the mckesson brand feels the same as surgilube. This is the best lubricant that i have ever used.

There's no burning or stinging like the astroglide gel seems to do (perhaps the glycerin or chlorhexidine causes it? My wife was told today that her problems are nearly cured, to some extent due to a lack of unnecessary chemical irritants. Also, it is...  Read More

The mckesson is a bit ‘clumpy’ so i just smear it around. It is clean and not sticky and free of irritants. Nice glide, no stinging afterwards.

Cons

This is well-priced, but the formula itself is not one that works for me.

Highlights

Quality

It is a pretty good water based lubricant, can be used in a lube launcher, or applied locally by digital manipulation.

Easy application, thick enough for male catherization without discomfort

For the past fourteen months i've been using mckesson lubricating jelly for intermittent catheterization with acceptable results.

I got a bad skin infection after some of the gel got smeared on my skin, which might have had open cuts from dryness.

Price

Gets the job done and the price can't be beat.

Excellent product for half the price of name brands.

It only behooves you, the end user (consumer) to shop the lowest price.

For the package of 12 tubes, the price is wonderful.

Shipping

Product was mailed in a expedited process.

Packaging/appearance

Once packaged in tubes or little individual use packets and boxed up, they are warehoused and sold to end users.

It doesn't matter whose name is on the outside of the tube or the box, that jelly came over here in a huge bulk container tote.

Competitiveness

It saves so much compare to the 3 bottles package.

Definitely a lot better than what can be found in most drug stores.

They are all the same product, unless specifically stated mfgdbin usa, or some other location.

I can only compare this with surgilube but i think the mckesson brand works better on silicon sounders.
