I don't think you can get a warranty anywhere close to 5 years anymore on new drives.

Smart info reports 5 years 25 days of power on time and shows drive is in good health when i got it

These should have some life left in it and it will be used with redundancy in a home server

I needed it when plugged directly into the motherboard but didnt need it when using a removeable hdd rack
