I was willing to purchase one, if my motherboard required it, but mine is a relatively new chipset (asrock a320m).
I have about 8 of these drives, and even though they are 'used' some of the don't seem to have logged too many operational hours.

After reading several reviews on similar drives from 10tb14tb some required a special power adapter for a new type of remote power activation

It does require 6gbs sata cables black not the 3gbps orange cables

The included instruction card included an explanation that the drive cannot be installed on a 32bit os such as windows 10

It requires a 64bit os and a 6gbps sata cable

It did not include an adapter but again it did not require it its unclear whether it would work with an older motherboard
