The reason why you need to let the mirror reach ambient temperature is because large mirrors such as this actually change shape in accordance to the temperature which means that if you collimate the scope the term for aligning your secondary mirror with your primary mirror before it reaches ambient temperature it can actually through off your alignment and youll get crappy views

Also beware that this scope is not on a motor driven mount it’s mounted on a dobsonian base and this model requires manual adjustment to find stars

The only problem i keep running into is when i try to center an object in the eyepiece the telescope will then settle as i take my hands off of it making it so i have to anticipate where the telescope will move

Sometimes when using a high magnification eyepiece it can be difficult to properly focus objects into view
