Pros & Cons
Pros
Mid-range plossl eyepiece set (higher quality than stock eps, also comes with filters which is a must):. Slow motion controls are awesome, especially when you are at high magnification.
Achromatic objective lens delivers a fairly sharp bright image (although with some chromatic aberration), and the 900mm f. Is apparently also normal. I prefer reflectors over refractors, due to the fact that i notice less chromatic aberrations when us... Read More
The tripod is decent enough, i use it in my mostly wind sheltered back yard on an old wooden deck, and don't get too much wobble out of it. The tripod it comes with is very nice.
Focuser mechanism is smooth, 90 deg. Cradle has a top mount which will accept a good scope. I plan to upgrade as soon as i can.
Cons
The equatorial mount that sets on type of the tripod is just way too much weight for this tripod. The tripod looks nice and is very adjustable but has a terrible tendency to twist from the head down to the legs. The problem is that it is so bulky and ... Read More
The viewfinder and barlow make polaris 127eq an unworthy purchase for a beginner. Objects looks far worse than cosmos firstscope which does not include a collimation mechanism for the primary. Illustrations themselves are also not as illustrative as t... Read More

Since purchasing this in december of 2022, i have become so passionate about the hobby that i even built my own telescope (a 11... Read More
That’s what you get with refractors that have such a large f/ ratio: minimal chromatic aberration and crisp images.
The stock lenses are rather blurry and definitely need to be upgraded.
Packaging/appearance
Small enough to pack into the car and drive somewhere with less light pollution.

But…the aperture of 90mm will do nothing for your deep sky objects dsos

Now i have been able to see at least 20 of the messier objects but most were unimpressive this scope could probably do 90 of them if your skies are dark enough
