In the past i had issues with other digital thermometers breaking or giving false readings due to the steam and water vapor when boiling but not with this unit

The reason for a 4 star rating and not a 5 is that the alarm sound is a bit hard to hear if you have a busy and noisy work area and that the unit dose not come with a stem clip or stand

Thats a great feature to have since you can set it to whatever the safe temp is for the meat youre cooking and youll know if you hit it even without having to look at the screen
