We have used most versions of thermometers over the years to check the childrens temperature when they are unwelli found that forehead thermometers were quick but poorly displayed and you could not guarantee they were calibrated

Under arm thermometers are reasonably accurate but take too long to give a reading which is uncomfortable for a child with a fever and can lead to false results as the child wriggles
