Pros

Meguiars is well known in the detailing community. Bought for my cheap harbor freight 6 da polisher. Workscuts fast when using correct compound.

Meguiar's velcro is easier on foam pad backings, and helps them last longer. The velcro seems a lot softer than the one that came on the harbor freight da.

The backing plate seems very well made and sturdy. Bought with the intention of replacing a larger, less durable backing plate. Perfect size for any job. Also used this plate on a friends headlights.


Cons

Meguiar 5 inch backing plate is a waste of money. They soak up all the wax, turning it into a wax blob. The old larger pads were made much better. Don't buy this plate.

    Does a great job of holding on to the pads but it got so hot that it started melting to the pad almost didnt get it apart

    I had read about it possibly melting so i checked it as soon as i was done glad i did because it would not have come apart if i would have left it stuck together over night its like the hook and loop got so hot it melted it together

    This backing plate just needs like a red line or some other color to make it easier to align the pad onto it
