Pros

It encourages imagination, improves dexterity, can grow with him, andcan be played alone or with more. In true melissa & doug fashion these wooden toys never disappoint. My 3 yr old twin grandsons love it. My 4 yr old grandson loves it!

There are a lot of pieces and the kids love that some of the trains and cars have magnetic and removable pieces that can be picked up by the cranes. Our 2 yr-old grandson loves the set. My grandson really loves the train set.

Q&a says it is about this assembled. Have wanted to pull them out farther, but am unsure if they are * or glued in. Easy fix for us by using double sided foam mounts.

Got this on black friday deal and it is perfect.

Yes, i paid a little bit more but it was definitely worth it!

We bought this on sale and would suggest because of some of the issues to wait for a sale and not buy at the full price.

Also i think it is worth the price.

Shipping

All of their toys and household items were being shipped home via boat so this gave the boys something to play with the first day back.

Packaging/appearance

Carton box was teared apart and we will wait for christmas to assemble it and see if some thing is missing.

I did open the box and inspect it and it does appear to be quality parts and complete.

Competitiveness

The other stand alone magnet train sets are compatible with this set, which is great to add to what comes with the set.

Many wooden expansions from other off brand companies work with it as well.

I almost bought a random off brand set but decided to go with my trusted melissa & doug friends since i knew they had never let me down.
