Pros
These are great and very competitively priced. Bought it primarily for the kettle. I recommend these to anyone who is thinking of purchasing these.
App is great as you can see the 'live' usage and also look at historical data (plotted on a graph). Then meross software is intuitive and easy to use. Works fine with alexa.
Very quick and easy to setup. You need to install the meross app and link it to the amazon app. This is s lot easier to operate if you have an internet failure that the small recessed button on the side of the unit.
Cons
The setup is reasonably easy, however it doesn't work without internet connection and sending some data to china. I currently use 'hive' smart plugs, which are very good but expensive. My advice is to totally steer clear of these. They are useless.
The cover hides a 10 a relay (w14 power relay from fanhar) which is definitely not suitable to switch 13 a load. They need to be able to sustain the power requirements of a standard uk plug to be useful. When powered on with 2kw load, it reports 3.

Sets up as easily as the other plugs i have bought but this plug is fractionally larger if used in my extension cable would stop me using the sockets either side so i at best i lose one socket but ok in uk mains double socket

To cut a very long story short it seems the security settings on an iphone does not allow you to connect to an unsecured wifi network such as the smart plug has

So i had to dig out my old android phone set it up install the meross app and set up the plugs using that
