You dont need it but its also hard to find instructions on setting things up without the app

After about 15 mins i figured out pair the hub sensor first by doubleclicking the buttons on both theres a simstyle tool to hit the button on the side of the sensor then scan the homekit qr code on the hub make sure you set the location of the sensor correctly you cant change it without a factory reset hold the button for 5 seconds

Also i can see a historic of how the temperature evolved during the day and during the night inside the coop
