Pros & Cons
Pros
The back is high enough to cover over the back of your sneakers or low hiking shoes and the thicker back edge keeps the sock from slipping down. The tongued ankle makes it easy to pull up or readjust while your shoe is on your foot if needed.
These strike a nice balance of support without being overbearing. They seem well constructed and the inside is super soft. The design is also super cool.
M/l fits my (mens) 11 shoe sized foot very nicely. L-xl fits perfectly. X-large size comfortably fits my size 14 feet--a rarity in my experience.
Heel and toe areas seem thickest of all. Padding isn't as thick as some i've worn, but also doesn't feel bulky or awkwardly under your foot while you're walking. They have a slight thickness to them which helps insulate and wick out sweat.
These are a great pair of socks for even the pickiest person on your list! I like how attractive these socks are with the triangle designs on the side of the feet. I wish someone made a sock for those in the 12-14.
Highlights
Quality
Love these socks - very high quality, snug but very nice fitting, good wicking, and they feel great.
They provide great arch support and hugged every curve in my feet.
These are 88% polyester, 10% nylon, 2% spandex socks that are thick enough to provide useful cushioning without being so thick ... Read More
Unfortunately these socks developed a hole after around three months of wear.
Price
I love these socks, they're a bit pricey for me to buy a lot of them but they are so nice.
Def worth the few extra bucks i feel.
These are pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Competitiveness
First of all, let me say that merrill is my favorite brand of shoes.
I don't find them to be out of line, price-wise, compared with other premium brands.
I have other socks by this brand, and none disappoint.

My one caution is that if you have bigger ankles as overweight or older people often do these may not be for you

I dont like these quite as much as my merino wool socks for when my feet get wet but they are plenty nice otherwise

I tend to prefer natural fibers in clothing wherever practical though synthetics definitely have some advantages especially in some extreme conditions
