Pros & Cons
Pros
This one fits a bit more snuggly and is probably because it’s supposed to be waterproof. Have been a huge fan of their waterproof hikers. Excellent all-around hikers.
This is the modern hiking shoe. Went up a half size. Sizing seems to be accurate as well. I have a pretty wide footed structure, but it seems like the normal sizes would work.
These are super comfortable from the start. Took em to the mall for the first time and had no pain in my feet. I almost always buy 2 pair so i have time to get replacements when they start to wear out.
These are the most lightweight and comfortable boots i've ever owned. The price is moderate, there are cheaper boots, but these seem pretty rugged in comparison. I'm very satisfied with the way they held up.
Cons
There is a seam about 1/2 in from the opening of the boot, which rubs constantly causing blisters. The waterproofing is all gone, and merely walking through short wetgrass soaks both of my socks and feet. Not enough flex in the toe area on the europea... Read More
The boots are not remotely waterproof. There seems to be no protection from the moisture at all.
Highlights
Quality
Superb comfort and foot wrap; solid, stiff sole, good footbed.
Great arch support i have flat feet great traction waterproof super comfortable.
All of those other boots had to be broken in for weeks to even begin to be comfortable; not the case with these.
Wore them to mow very wet grass and feet remained dry (only time will tell how they fare in adirondack weather).
Price
I bought them on sale and i love them.
The good:the price here is about 20 bucks cheaper than a store down the road, so that was nice.
Shipping
These shoes just came in yesterday just very slightly give me this issue on day 1, but i think if i adjust the laces perfectly i am good.
Competitiveness
I completely wore out my last pair of hiking shoes/boots and got a good deal from a name brand company that also makes ski boots.
I prefer more cushion so i returned and replaced it with the merrell gtx which fits about the same but is less expensive.
I own 2 other models of merrill’s and one i hate the other i love.
