Pros & Cons
Pros
This one fits a bit more snuggly and is probably because it’s supposed to be waterproof. Have been a huge fan of their waterproof hikers. Excellent all-around hikers.
This is the modern hiking shoe. Went up a half size. Sizing seems to be accurate as well. I have a pretty wide footed structure, but it seems like the normal sizes would work.
These are super comfortable from the start. Took em to the mall for the first time and had no pain in my feet. I almost always buy 2 pair so i have time to get replacements when they start to wear out.
These are the most lightweight and comfortable boots i've ever owned. The price is moderate, there are cheaper boots, but these seem pretty rugged in comparison. I'm very satisfied with the way they held up.
Cons

The boots are not remotely waterproof. There seems to be no protection from the moisture at all.
Highlights
Quality
He has a pair that is about 6 years or so, so they are well made and comfy.
The quality is fantastic—no signs of wear and tear, even after all those miles.
Unless they are only referring to the soles of the boots, these are not waterproof in the least bit.
Infact i did the socal section of the pct straight out the box, about 566 miles.
Price
Very happy at the price point of just above $100.

Go back after 24 hours and buy a set of danner 600 leaf gtx hiking boots for men (grizzly brown/rodeo red) and get $30 off.
Shipping
I received these boots just 5 minutes ago and put them on immediately.
Competitiveness
I have seen merrell brand before but never tried their shoes.
