Pros & Cons
Cons
The insole is too thick and hard, the toe box is wider than the moab 2s and is angled oddly upwards which makes them weird to walk in. Just real funky and bulky at the top, makes a mess of my pants.
These cost $90 and the salomons cost $150. Shame on merrill for manufacturing and selling such an inferior product. Their warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
They seem to be about 1/8 inch smaller than advertised. They're also heavy and clunky. They are so much wider inside that there is no support. Grip is average, support is average and fit is average.

After 18 months, and several hikes and climbs through mud and rocks, these shoes hold up very well, keep their support and stru... Read More
They are pretty good no slip, comfortable, good arch support, etc.
Before: the last pair was moab 2 and lasted 2 years through both construction and mowing.
I have fallen twice when the laces from one foot got caught in the lacing hook of the opposite shoe.
Price
We were in a pinch for new shoes for my husband and found these at a much lower cost!
Thought i was buying the ones i know (moab 3 prime) the primes are all leather and about $20 more.
Thought they were a little pricey when purchased, but have since reconsidered that view.
Yes, they cost a little more than what i was accustomed to buying, but since that first pair i keep coming back to them for a few reasons.
Shipping
I think they shipped the wrong size to me.
He tried him on right away soon as we received them and they fit perfectly.
Packaging/appearance
Video says it's waterproof; but there's no way to know from the description or packaging or product labeling.
Competitiveness
Yes, they're now worn out (thus the reason for this purchase) but they've been through a lot and gave me more than my money's worth.
I threw my other two pair of competitive brand out.
He tends to roll his feet outward and i know merrell is a good brand.

I’m anxious to order a new pair but these so far refuse to wear out
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
He only had them a couple weeks and worn them a half dozen times because he doesn’t want to get them dirty… he says they are too nice to wear while he’s working or getting things done or walking and he doesn’t want to get them all messed up
