Pros
Perfect fit for my 99 silverado. Fits many gm trucks and vans from 1995-2005. Worked/fit perfectly on a 2000 chevy astro.
It holds the head unit very good and doesn't move or rattle at all. Only complaint is that it doesn't bolt into the dash like the stock did. Easy install, looks good, and everything needed to mount a new deck.
This kit works great to put a single din receiver in. If you get an aftermarket radio your going to need this dash kit. Read the instructions to get a secure mounting of the radio.
Cons
Tried to cancel the order less than 24 hours after ordering. Nothing fits very disappointed. Not likely to buy from amazon again. If metra is reading this i hope you fire the guy who wrote the “installation’ booklet because of how vague it is.

Pretty straight forward waxy to assemble and install
Well made, there was parts i didnt need in my application but in my chevy van all went easy fast and better than expected.
Slid right into place and that was it couldn’t ask for a better product would order again!
If you are swapping out a factory stereo in a general motors truck, save yourself the aggravation and buy this first!
Price
Cant say much but this made things easier and for the price and sound i got it was easy
It would have been nice for them to includes $.
Few dollars at the local hardware store got me fixed up.

Came with extra pieces for a different kind of install which was a plus even though i did not need it.
Competitiveness
I found out later that 1999 -2002 models are different, as the opening is 1 1/2 din instead of double din.
Works well and is good and tight as opposed to the options sold in stores.
The 99-02 are definitely different than the 03 and up.

The screen hits the gear shifter so i have to pull the shifter out of the way for the screen to operate

The included instructions seriously leave something to be desired the suggested installation for my vehicle had no diagrams or pictures just vague instructions
