Pros & Cons
Pros
This is a game that i will be replaying several times over, and trying not to throw my switch across the room when i die to raven beak for the 14th time in a row. The game is well paced. But it does a good job giving you a basic ideal of what you shou... Read More
The gameplay is great, with returning mechanics and fun new mechanics. It’s fun acquiring new skills and then going back to worlds to conquer areas that were inaccessible before. Sound design is also top notch, as per the usual with metroid.
The long-awaited sequel to fusion. It does almost everything fusion did, but better.
This game is challenging but very rewarding. Smooth, challenging. You will get lost, a lot. This has this in *.
The battles against the emmis are bittersweet. A lot of the mini boss battling also feels like you're playing a bullet-* game, or one of the newer ninja gaiden games. With some practice, defeating an enemy or boss is empowering.
Cons
Game developers need to realize that not everyone is a * gamer.
Game is a lazily made, excruciating, money grab. It feels like they slapped the metroid title on a genre horror game. Save your money and play ori 2. Bucks for a 10 hour game is a crime these days.
This game is kind of fun and retro but the boss fights are way too hard. Some of them are so short you have to preemptively guess and if you guess wrong you fail. What is most infuriating for me are the boss enemies.
Avoid like the plague. Its over reliant on qte/parry mechanic. And, when they connect, it's a huge amount of damage.

Gameplay and story wise, i feel like this was the product of everything good taken from previous 2d metroid games.
They broke up energy tanks into pieces.
Lots of people won’t stick with it, because you’re being punished with bad game design.
Price
I would recommend getting this game when it's on sale as it is still enjoyable, it just doesn't feel "aaa".
Packaging/appearance
Arrived in perfect condition and is exactly as i needed.
Competitiveness
Metroid dread does this genre better than any other game i have played.
Dread is tied with fusion as my favorite in the metroid series.

A few minor gripes involve backtracking being a bit meandering due to the load times and lack of interconnected points that dont become available until the very end of the game

The game is also a bit short and some of the more interesting mechanics tease a lot of potential that is never quite delivered on

It is a direct sequel to metroid fusion and it ties up some loose ends from that game

It’s a good game but the emmis are just tedious and add nothing
