Pros & Cons
Pros
Micca origain a250 integrated amp is a very good amp in the price range. Paired with bookshelf speakers and a powered sub it can't be beat for the price. It pairs well with micca rb42 bookshe shelf speakers, and some older klh speakers i have.
Micca found out that i was unhappy, they graciously insisted on a replacement. I am blown away.
It does not come with any frivolous features. Reasonably loud with no audible distortion.
This means you can keep the power supply tucked away while the important part sits in plain sight. The toggle switch on/off is excellent.
The power plug is a little squeaky so don't have it plug in at any angles. This sounds every bit as good to me as my old 500w per channel carver class a/b amplifier.
Cons
Lasted 3-1/2 months, then started making a popping sound through the speakers. Now only a loud clicking is heard on one channel.
Highlights
Quality
So far, i am very pleased with the result.
Build quality is fantastic as well, full aluminium construction.
Sad to say i'm disappointed because i was initially very pleased.
They offered me a free new unit with free shipping to reinstate my confidence with the product.
Price
Sure, there will be some negatives ones (you can find negative ones for amps cost 100 times the cost of this origain, to be sure).
Higher end, but i couldn't justify the cost, so we settled for this little wonder.
Competitiveness
I am powering two bose bookshelf speakers with a chromecast audio supplying sound.
Got this to replace a lepy lp2020ausing with: micca mb42x bookshelf speakers with 4-inch carbon fiber woofer and silk dome t... Read More
The 40w marantz or an old rotel 50w power amp blow this away for volume, its not even close.
(a cambridge topaz am10, and an emotiva a100 did not make the cut.

Another amplifier i have suffers from this issue when connected to my computer making it seem like the sound card is noisy or of poor quality but the origain connected to that same computer produces perfectly clean audio with dead silence in the quiet parts

Due to the efficiency it runs only slightly warmer than ambient and there is no noticeable temperature change even after extended listening at the highest volume levels i find comfortable

Measuring with a watt meter i found that the amplifier and its bundled power supply consume 3
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The power consumption only goes up a few tenths of a watt when turned up to moderately loud nearfield listening levels

To get the power consumption to rise by even one watt the volume has to be cranked up to the point where its a bit uncomfortable to sit near the speakers
