Pros & Cons
Pros
Micca is great for the home theater or music enthusiast looking to dip their toe into the audiophile world. They get enough juice from my budget denon avr to play loud enough to keep up with my svs sub and svs surrounds which invidually cost me as muc... Read More
The subwoofer has far more power than i need. The crossover brings out crazy rich detail and i’m not even on a relatively clean amp. Vocals are, however, a tiny bit more recessed than instrumentals.
The rb42 lcr can focus on the frequency range it's designed for, the system really shines. These are far more efficient than the rb42's. With the mtm speaker layout, these speakers are much more in line with normal speaker efficiency.
Great bang for the buck. Great starter speaker. I now hope it lasts forever but again wow!
These are frickin' amazing speakers. They're worth $200 for a pair. They strike a good balance of being forgiving but also giving detail. Objectively, these are absolutely amazing speakers for the price.
Highlights
Quality
Excellent product, clear sound, no port chuff sound noted thus far
Well built and feels heavy and sturdy.
The weight of the cabinet, the veneer, the binding posts, the grill, it all oozes quality.
This was my fourth attempt in less than a year to fill the void created by a lack of sound/ quality offered by other manufactur... Read More
Price
What can i say, they are great and inexpensive.
Great bang for the buck, sounds amazing.
But for the money, it's a hidden gem deal.
They don't come across at all as a $200 set of speakers.
Packaging/appearance
Packaging wasn’t anything special but they came with rubber feet.
It replaced an old onkyo ls3100 system that seemed to oscillate between having too much low-end for an apartment and no low end... Read More
Competitiveness
I think the improved crossover design used in the rb42's/rb42-c is great and well worth the price difference to micca similar "42" models.
Once i did that i could play them at similarly loud levels as the klipsch’s without distortion.
Found the others unable to match the sound of my front three way hi-vi swans and rear svs prime satellites.
To its credit i also tried a more expensive polk xt30 and found the micca to be noticeably more natural sounding, with fuller voices.

As for wire not everyone talks about the wire used to connect speakers

I have braided wire going into the terminals on the amplifier into banana plug splitters and then 12g banana plugs to the speakers themselves
