In fact, i'm quite happy with the way it represents male vocals and music with larger string instruments.
Installing the grill (with the included cloth lining) also softens them a bit.
They are installed in contact with my fiberglass attic insulation and i think this helps with the base response.
Price
The tonal balance is perfect, and sound way better than some of my friends set-up with in-ceilings that cost 5-10 times these.
Competitiveness
I can whole-heartedly state that these are just as good, if no better than the monoprice ones.

For a speaker that i want to sit down and pay attention to thats ok but for something that will be playing in the background i would prefer a smoother sound that doesnt grab your attention

So i did a review of these a while ago and there were a bunch of reviews but for some reason only 2 are no showing up
