No regrets with this purchase. Props to the seller for a quick turnaround on that. The quality of the product is good. Would buy from again.
As is, it has no problem pushing 1. It is fast and and as of yet run with no hiccups. It also has been completely stable.
Cons
The patriot viper steel is definitely dual ranked and incompatible. There is a jumper inside that locks the unit on 100% of the time and disables the power button. Skill, patriot, and corsair was not clearly labeled.

Like others have reported, after setup the unit that arrived would not post or boot with both sodimm slots populated.
I purchased a usb powered noctua 120mm fan and that pretty much fixed the heating issue.
