Pros & Cons
Pros
Bought this product for prep hikes for a 12 day philmont high adventure trip with the scouts. I have 2 more prep hikes before we go on our 12 day high adventure trip. Just used it on a section hike of the at. Survived 10 day trek in philmont nm.
The miers footprint is a super lifetime waterproof rectangle. The hex shape provides floor under the vestibules of the rain fly.
It's quite roomy and the quality is very good. Plenty of room inside with storage pockets and lantern hooks. Sure, the tent is more fluffed out and could take up more room.
It's lightweight, incredibly packable, and fairly breathable. With the right footprint everything stays clean and dry- as clean as things can be when you are hiking and backcountry camping. Once you've practiced it once or twice it takes only a few mi... Read More
Cons
The ridge between the poles lacks a catenary cut. Opposing zipper directions is absurd. One of the two outer side pullout lines wasn't attached at all.
And both my feet and head were touching the ends of the tent (without a sleeping bag or pad) it says it's 49 high, but inside the tent, the height is nowhere near that. The headspace over your face when you are lying down is only about 10 inches.
This entire system is a worthless ripoff. It is muddy and moldy. This tent was used, moldy, muddy, and small black bugs on it.

Quality
This one seems to be very well made.

Price
Overall, a great value for this tent.
This tent is a very good value for such a lightweight shelter.
I can't see spending $600 or more for a 1-person tent for the simple weekend trips i take.
I wouldn’t even call this a “budget” option because that implies a sacrifice in quality.
Shipping
Arrived just in time then off to east texas for a wet enjoyable hike.
Packaging/appearance
It's lightweight, incredibly packable, and fairly breathable.
I just opened the box im very surprised how light this tent is !
Will definitely be packing a very warm bag though for overnights in cold environments.
Competitiveness
I’ve already replaced most of them with the msr groundhogs strakes at extra expense.
The main rectangle fits almost exactly the same as the miers footprint.
The included stakes are heavy-duty and better than most, also there are enough included stakes to do a standard pitch, but more... Read More
I did run across another hiker with the exact tent except it was made by a different company.

I’m kind of a tentophobe and don’t generally have good outcomes when trying to erect a tent

This mier product provided zero f bombsthe entrance feels palatial compared to many solo tents

The tent is the equivalent to a bedroom with a high ceiling

I am however disappointed in a couple of components that seem to have been alteredchanged based on what i’ve seen in all online video reviews i’ve watched
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The line lock tensioners of the guy lines have been changed to an inline style instead of those attached directly to the loops on the tent
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
I find this particular inline style to be more of a pain to adjust the tension as it requires two hands instead of just one
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The other change which makes the tent more cumbersome to pitch is the lines on the four corners of the inner tent floor body
