Quality
It’s really well made, super comfortable (much nicer, softer and thicker than my old futon), and just a quality product.
The fabric is nice and it folds up well.
I chose this one from all the other options, because it’s made in japan, so i expected quality.
I have to add that the support it offers is not ideal and after laying for 10 minutes the lump becomes apparent.
Packaging/appearance
I left it out in the sun for a couple of hours, but even without that, it would’ve puffed up nicely from the flattened package it came in.
Competitiveness
Anyway, the other buyer was right the futon continued to puff out, & the ridge became no big deal.

On the other review thread some poor student was saying he found the futon as hard as the floor
