The best way to avoid this is after setting the tent up the first time just roll the entire tent together without disconnecting the sleeping quarters from the outer shell

Another bad thing is the windows only openclose from the outside which is a bit of a pain but is easily managible

The tent itself simply slides into the shell and then attaches via little dangles
