It's extremely firm on both sides. The band is adjustable. My grandson slept really well on it.
One of the standout aspects of this mattress is its uncompromising durability and versatility. It surely beats an air mattress any day.
It properly fills a twin-sized fitted sheet. The tri-fold nature of the mattress will also make a good grandchildren fort.
Cons
This mattress in not inexpensive. I'm not anxious to spend yet more money for a topper that may or may not help. I have no choice but to return to my living room futon.

Got the carrying case that it folds into and while it's a bit bulky, you can still take it with you and know that it's well-protected.
