My daughter is 11 years old and 90 lbs. I like that it's more on the hard side instead of one you might sink into. My 8yo niece uses this daily to practice for class! Granddaughter loves it.

I would recommend a different color than the purple if you have dark wooden floors as it kind of blends in making it harder to see it
