The lightning connector is hard fixed to the charger whereas the usbc is a short cable but a little awkward to use

This doesnt make much sense to me since all recent and future apple gear not to mention android comes with usbc chargers

It would make much more sense in a brand new product for the usbc port to be fixed in place and the lightning charger to be the optional morefiddly bit
