That said this particular nitro formula does not have the ideal amount of hardener which means that the finish will be a tad soft but more important it does not generate finish cracks nearly as easily the finish can self heal

I sanded the drum to 220 grit smoothness stained it applied a coating of nitrocellulose lacquer sanding sealer roughed it up a bit with 220grit then applied 6 coats using this lacquer spray no need to sand between coats

I waited a half hour between each coat making sure it was no longer tacky before spraying another coat

Once finished i didnt really even see a need to wet sand it afterwards as i wasnt looking for a wildly highgloss mirrorlike finish
