The first shedder is a dematting rake that really gets the undercoat sheddings to pull free and relieve the pet of their dense and sometimes felted fluff while leaving the long silky guard hairs in place

Some of my livestock guardian dogs who live outdoors at all times have very dense fur that needs a coarse brushing before its even possible to get into the under layers with the fine teeth

For my dogs this includes the legs and belly as well as the top of the head and under the chin

Those areas still shed and still need to be brushed or theyre going to catch mud and clump up into mats but the bigtoothed brushes just wont do much in these areas
