Highly recommended. Outstanding tool. Think from twelve o'clock to one o'clock.

This moen tool has a hex head to lock onto the cartridge, so it can be * on by hand, thus limiting the change of stripping a philips head. Bought this to remove a moen 1222 shower cartridge.

This tool fits perfectly and provides steady, even pressure to remove even the gnarliest part. High quality chromed steel component is a good tool, very sturdy, and if you work on these things very much you may want both on hand.

This item is not returnable even though it didn't fit properly on my shower cartridge 1222.

Quality

So glad i bought this quality moen tool.

This makes it an easy 20 minute job if you know what you are doing with the balance of the valve replacement.

I could not get the bolt to screw into the control, even with the nut turned all the way up.

After an hour of trying to remove the cartridge with no luck at all, i googled how to remove one and found this product.

Price

There's not even all that much difference in price.

Packaging/appearance

Using the cartridge puller, the job took under 15 minutes, and without all of the aggravation.

Remember to blast the water supply for few seconds once removed to remove the small pieces of debris from the inlets.

I did have to read the instructions on the back of the package.

Competitiveness

Having removed cartridges with and without this tool, i can say this is a no-brainer.

This tool makes all the difference in the world.
