Pop-Up Functionality
Customers highly praise the simple and effective pop-up functionality of the Moen 140780 Lavatory Drain Assembly. They appreciate its ease of use and durability compared to traditional stopper designs, which often break or require adjustment. The heavy gauge metal construction and functional overflow holes are also noted as advantages.
Easy Installation
Customers have overwhelmingly positive feedback about the ease of installation of this Moen Lavatory Drain Assembly. They mention that it went in smoothly with minimal effort and no plumbers putty was needed for most installations. However, some customers suggest that clearer instructions would be helpful for non-professionals to avoid potential issues during installation.

Leak-Free
Customers are generally pleased with the leak-free performance of the Moen 140780 Lavatory Drain Assembly, but some have noted a small puddle around the rim due to its design. The installation process was easy and quick for most, with some taking additional precautions to prevent leaks. A few customers had issues with receiving instructions or finding the product in stores.
Highlights
Quality
Good heavy gauge metal, threads all work, pop-up works, and is easy to remove for cleaning, repair, etc.
Our handyman/plumber installed the three we purchased so i can't attest to ease of installation but they work very well.
The drain itself and the pipe are 2 separate pieces.
Installation was easy and the product is well made, however, it has a design flaw.
Price
We almost purchased this from a local showroom who charged $25 more!
As someone who has wasted much time with the cheap plumbing junk that is the under $20 drains to splurge on a moen.
A fairer price (in my estimation) would be in the $20-25 range.
You get what you pay for so we didn't question the higher price.
Shipping
We ended up purchasing this one, and it arrived the following day.
Packaging/appearance
Bought from the warehouse, came in unmarked box but was new.
Competitiveness
We had another cheap brand of orb stopper before which was very degraded and just cheap plastic.
I went to the local big box stores and they did not carry any similar products in oil rubbed bronze.
* the orb finish is lighter than most orb finishes, and drain had a small finish imperfection at the edge.
The finish matches perfectly with the other moen faucets and fixtures
