It has a strong magnet that holds the hand held unit and disengages and reengages instantly. My one complaint is due to the magnetic design as a whole.

The settings are really good and the water flow and pressure are much better than any others we've tried with the same gpm flow. I always gut my new shower head to remove flow restrictors whenever possible.
