Pros & Cons
Pros
Bar looks like a towel bar and is a beautiful addition to any bathroom. Installed in new shower remodel. The chrome bar matches my other chrome towel bars-- it looks good. I get compliments on both looks and functionality.
This safety bar mount securely and does not come loose. Drilling six holes really dulls a bit and ensure the screws are going into a stud to have the greatest hold and security. The brushed nickel matches my fixtures.
Cons
Other reviewers indicate that the plated surface has rusted or corroded after only 3 months. Compared to the traditional round-end bars, this style is much more tedious to install. Could not use.
Highlights
Quality
I really like the design of this grab bar and the quality is excellent.
I gave it only 4 stars due to the screws that came with the product.
For the price, the craftsmanship is not there.
I needed grab bars for safety in the tub/shower area but didn't want it to look like a nursing home with the usual large clunky bars.
Packaging/appearance
It was a bit hard to install because the rings around the ends won't quite move out of the way enough to install the screws.
Competitiveness
Also had to use diamond tip drillbits.
Also once through the tile, i switched to an appropriate bit to pre-drill holes for the screws.
But, it does seem better than cheaper alternatives.
