The mounting brackets are plastic with a thin tab that retains the towel bar. We are used to using the old metal base plate with small set screws. It's solid, but i used my own toggles to mount the 18 inch bar when it arrived. Very easy to install.

Perfect towel hanger for small bathroom. They match the rest of our moen bathroom fixtures nicely. It seems like every moen fixture has a different mounting design.

The bar is not in a position where it can be bumped, leaned on, or otherwise stressed.

The moen grift is of very low quality and the mounting system is absolute garbage. These fixtures use a ridiculous mounting system. This has to be the most poorly designed mounting system i've seen.

Installation is a nightmare. Very cheesy looking.
