A trick i learned from a handyman is to wrap tape around the middle of the bar to protect it then move the two covers to the middle and tape them there to keep them out of the way during installation
Popping the covers off is a bit challenging but once theyre off they move out of the way onto the bar so you can access the screw holes easily
