The only difference between this and the newerslightly more expensive versions of this product is that there is no option to split out the audio signal that the hdmi cable carries by default

You need to manually set audio output over normal audio output channel so you dont have the audio deadending into the vga connection playback devices option under sound settings for windows

Also i believe this is only a oneway converter for hdmi output into vga vga connection to displaymonitorprojector hdmi connection from pcoutput source
