This is a sturdier case than my old one as well, so i'm not surprised at that. The cover magnet is strong enough that it doesn’t come off, keeping it protected. It works great and protects well.
The clear backing is a good mixture of a rubberized plastic. The color is a beautiful bright lilac purple. Stickers stick perfectly as well, if you're looking to decorate. They have so many different designs!

Old kindle stopped holding a charge so i got a new one new kindle of course requires a new case even though the old one would have fit
