I have a lot of problems with my wrists and hands nerve damage and carpal tunnel in both so holding heavy items is not comfortable

You never have to worry that your battery will drain and when you open it all you have to do is swipe to bring you right back to your page

As a side note for those who are choosing whether a slim hard case or an easel case is best for you my boyfriend has the vertical flip version of this case and i really dislike how much bulk it adds when youre reading normally as in it is flipped vertically behind the kindle it doesnt fold flat

I particularly like the soft material on the flap the goes over the screen and that openclose of the flap turns the kindle onoff
