When crushed the case deforms but the glasses are not harmed, the latch still works. It even comes with a good lense cleaning cloth. Either my sunglasses (which are a bigger frame) or my regular glasses ( which are a narrower frame) fit very well.

This case is dependent on a spring mechanism to hold it shut as it has no latches

After having it for about 7 months of daily use opening and closing the case several times a day for reading glasses the case has gotten weaker to the point where it doesn’t hold itself closed anymore

The outer faux leather has a rubbery texture but not in a cheap feeling way if that makes any sense

With this metal case it can be destroyed but the expensive glasses are still ok that is what happened to the last case
