Next came the quest for a good sleevecase as the one that came with the laptop was pretty lame

Not enough room in the case for the stylus except at the top but since the stylus is not magnetic the stylus would slip out through the ends under the fold

Yes it was tight and if i would have tried using my pen first it would have gotten stuck
